When it came to starting her nonprofit, Recovery on Water, former executive director Jenn Junk explained that it was hard to do, but also incredibly rewarding. She says rowing gives breast cancer survivors the opportunity to not only get active while recovering, but also to get support from people who are going through similar experiences.

"Nobody really understands what you've been through, and what your body's been through, and how you're left to feel," Junk told Start TV. "I could see that rowing could be just this wonderful tool for women, to regain control of their bodies. Becoming a rower is kind of a badass way of going about it."
