Award-winning journalist Tracy Baim is currently the publisher for TheChicago Reader newspaper. In 1985, Baim co-founded the Windy City Times, a Chicago newspaper serving the gay and lesbian community, and in 1987, Outlines newspaper. "Being asked to be publisher of the Chicago Reader is an incredible career capstone for me," Baim told Start TV.

Baim is also the author of several books on LGBT history, but when she graduated college in 1984, she said, "There were only a handful of openly gay journalists at mainstream newspapers across the country."
