Lilly Rush is an intense character, and Kathryn Morris said she doesn't know how to have fun
Does everything have to be so intense? It depends on what we're talking about. When you're solving cold cases with the determination to get justice for every victim, you have to be straightforward, stern, and focused. As you can tell, we're describing Lilly Rush, played by Kathryn Morris.
This isn't hidden about the character; it's a major part of Cold Case’s plot. Still, that didn't stop fans from wondering if, when she wasn't working, she had any fun. They also wanted to know if the character would change, which Morris answered in 2006.
"We'll see her open her heart this time. She has spent so much time trying to fend off personal relationships and push everything out; nothing meant very much to her. Now she's trying to get a life, a more fulfilling way of living. She's fun to play with because she has a lot of stuff, a lot of issues going on. Just when you think you figured out everything, she'll take another step."
She continued, "She doesn't really know how to have fun. She may just go out for drinks at the tavern. Making breakfast is like a vacation to her. Turning the ringer off the phone would be considered fun for her. That's what she's learning this year, to have a little space."
