Lucy Liu on a possible Elementary revival: ''We really had closure on it''
Elementary, according to its fans, was one of the best adaptations of Sherlock Holmes. For seven seasons and over 150 episodes, viewers tuned in to see what Sherlock (Jonny Lee Miller) and Dr. Joan Watson (Lucy Liu) were up to, though they were usually solving crimes.
Lately, there have been many revivals of once-beloved shows, and Elementary fans couldn't help but hope the series would be next. Unfortunately, Lucy Liu believes that chapter has closed, but she loves seeing Sherlock's legacy live on through other productions.
In an early 2025 Screen Rant interview, Liu said, "I don't think about it, because it feels like we really had closure on it. Thank you for watching the seven seasons of Elementary. I feel like it was such a blur, because when you're doing television, you're on a treadmill, and you just can't stop."
The actress added, "So, I just loved working with Rob Doherty, who created the show and created these very interesting characters that developed and could grow and change. I don't know that that would ever happen, but I'm glad that people are still able to have spinoffs on Holmes, because obviously, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was on to something, and the legacy continues."
