Charmed producers were not happy when Rose McGowan dyed her hair

People dye their hair for different reasons: to get rid of grey hair, to change their appearance, or simply because they want to. While on television, actors should be able to have any hair color they want because it won't affect their ability to do their job. Though, producers might think differently. 

Charmed star Rose McGowan, who played Paige Matthews, the half-sister of Phoebe (Alyssa Milano) and Piper (Holly Marie Combs), decided she wanted to change her hair to a fiery red, and according to her, producers were not pleased. "Oh, come on now. You explain a lot of goofy things, goofier than this. Just say I did a spell or a potion which blew up in my face and turned my hair red," she said during an interview with the Associated Press in 2002 about the situation.

McGowan was joking, but producers added it to the show. "That's essentially what they did." She dyed her hair to cope with the brutal filming schedule of a weekly series. Despite that, she loved playing her character and hoped Paige would eventually become less interested in her sisters' lives and get one of her own.

"It's kind of bizarre that they have a young girl who is not seeing anyone...so hopefully I'll get some action."
